Private Treaty Goat Sales

(Quality Breeding Stock  <>  4-H & FFA Show Goat Prospects)

Sales: This event provides an opportunity for individuals to sell and/or swap goats.  THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION.  All sales are PRIVATE TREATY.  Purchasers will pay all monies directly to the sellers.

Spaces:  Spaces will be assigned to sellers.  Sellers may set up their own pens or goats may be left on trucks or trailers.

Fees:    $1.00 per goat for members of WCMGA with a maximum fee of $20.00

$2.00 per goat for non-members with a maximum fee of $40.00

Fees will be collected on animals upon arrival.

 Health Papers: All goats must be accompanied by HEALTH PAPERS. Health papers are the responsibility of the seller. Georgia Department of Agriculture requirements are as follows:

IV. A. Georgia and out-of-state goats must enter on a certificate of veterinary inspection issued within 30 days of the exhibition.  All goats, except wethers, must be identified with USDA approved individual animal identification to the flock of origin.  Those goats born after 1-2-2002 must be identified to the flock of birth and flock of origin if different.  This information must be recorded on the certificate of veterinary inspection.  The following statement must be recorded on the certificate of veterinary inspection for all goats including wethers:  "To the best of my knowledge, the animals being exhibited are free from any clinical signs consistent with those of footrot, scabies, contagious ecthyma    (soremouth), cutaneous fungal lesions, scrapie or any other infectious or contagious disease."  

Used Equipment: Producers selling goats may also bring used goat equipment to sell.  Those selling new equipment must register as a vendor. For a vendor application, please contact Helen Batten at (478) 552-1471 or helen@goat-a-rama.com
